We bought 3 CNC vertical milling machines (VM-CNC1060) for making molds. The 12-tool changer cuts setup time down by 60% and the precision is amazing — the cavity dimensions are always the same and the scrap factor has gone from 8% to 2%. The energy savings are quite apparent: monthly electricity bill was $300 less.
The SG-840 surface grinding machine is a great machine for surfacing the parts of medical devices. It machines the stainless (Ra: 0.8 μm) components in compliance with the FDA. It has easily used PLC control and is easily maintained: to date only weekly lubricant of the guideways is all that we have needed. I would certainly recommend it highly for industries where precision is important.
We are using the DT-CNC500 for drilling/tapping the electronics housings. The 10000 RPM spindle delivers 50 holes drilled per minute, and with the 9 tool magazine used no manual changing of tools is necessary. One time we had a problem with a spindle. The after sales group had a technician on-site within 2 days of the call — no down time was incurred. This unit is worth every dollar spent!
